FloPlast has been committed, for many years, to send zero waste to landfill. From the initial planning phase, the manufacturing site in Sittingbourne, Kent, was designed and developed to re-use all waste products from its machine processes.
Operations Manager, Daniel Sims, explains: “During our manufacturing process we aim to minimise waste. One example of this is through the recycling of sprues. The item is a bi-product of the moulding process, which allows the molten material to reach the moulding face within the tool. Wherever possible, we regrind and dose back into the production process, and this has no detrimental effect on the product quality.”
Due to the scale of the FloPlast operation, we work closely with our recycling partners, including Countrystyle Recycling, which has been ongoing for the last 10-years.
Neil Harrison, QUESH Manager, states: “As a responsible manufacturer, we are acutely aware of our impact on the environment. Throughout our 30-year history, we have strived to reduce the impact of waste and working in conjunction with Countrystyle Recycling enables the business to work smart. We continually strive and utilise new technologies that can assist and reduce our impact still further, we also invest in environmentally friendly products wherever possible.”
