BIM is an acronym for Building Information Modelling. Autodesk Revit is the host package that provides every detail about a building in one place. It has many uses, such as illustrating an entire building life-cycle from new design & build to demolition & recycling of materials. It provides an awareness of spaces, systems, products and sequences and notifies potential issues, which prevents users making design errors during the development stages of the build. This means abortive costs are minimalised and the projects face less setbacks than they may endure without the software. BIM offers all of this information to any user, which can allow integration of different aspects of the design to become more effective. This software can locate exact areas and products within a building so that if repairs are required in the future this can be pinpointed far simpler than in the past.
