FloPlast has recently completed the construction of a dedicated Quality Control and Test facility, within their existing manufacturing plant in Sittingbourne, Kent.
Replacing the previous QC and Test area, this newly created space offers the business to not only update its testing facility but to ensure we future proof the business.
The new space houses FloPlast’s existing testing equipment, including two QUV testers. These machines ensure they can offer the 10-year guarantee on Rainwater Systems by performing indicative testing for the lifecycle of the product in 1,600 hours. By simulating the effects of sunlight with fluorescent UV lamps, and dew and rain using condensing humidity spray, FloPlast can confidently guarantee the quality of the products.
Additionally, the QC area holds two Spectrophotometers, manufactured by Konica Minolta. Being able to offer a matching colour product, throughout all ranges, is imperative for FloPlast. An example of this is the Anthracite Grey Rainwater products which are tested to the same colour parameters as the Anthracite Grey Soil and Waste collection. This ensures the homeowner is guaranteed no colour deviations, whichever product they choose.
QUESH Manager, Neil Harrison, explains: “throughout FloPlast’s 30-year history we have always wanted to deliver a quality product, backed up by guarantees. The quality inspection steps may have changed over the years, as technology has improved, but the drive for excellence has always remained the same. This new space enables us to expand and invest, as technologies develop, confirming our status as a quality first manufacturer.
